Rainy Naha

Born into the Spider/Stick Clan in 1949, Rainy Naha is the daughter of Helen Naha (the original Feather Woman) and granddaughter of Paqua Naha (the original Frog Woman). Among Rainy's siblings are Burel Naha and Sylvia Naha Humpheries.

Rainy has been an active potter for more than 40 years and she's won a lot of blue ribbons along the way. In contradistinction to the Sikyatki Revival yellowware style Rainy's work is more along the lines of Walpi Polychrome, using a white slip and designs like bat wings and the Awatovi star pattern of her mother. Some of her pieces have up to five different slips applied to get the different colors. She works near Awatovi Mesa and that's where she finds the shards that stimulate her imagination.

She signs her pieces with the trademark feather of her mother plus her name, Rainy.
