Ramona Ami

Ramona Ami was a potter from the Hopi mesas. She was born to Emma and Hale Adams in February, 1929. She learned the traditional Hopi way of making pottery from her sister, Marcella Kahe, but didn't appear in the market until she was about 50.

Ramona's favorite forms to make were wedding vases and canteens. She preferred to decorate them in red and black, and usually with designs of butterflies, birds, moths, katsinas and geometric designs.
