Olivia Dominguez

Born in 1971, Olivia Dominguez Renteria is a potter from Mata Ortiz. She first began working with clay and producing pottery when she was eight years old. Since then she has become well-known for her intricately carved effigy pots that often feature owls, snakes and lizards.

In addition to the many ribbons and awards she has won over the years, Olivia took 1st and 3rd Place ribbons in the Effigies/Figures Division at the 2013 Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Women of Mata Ortiz show in Tucson.
