Mark Garcia

Santo Domingo Pueblo

It's hard to find any info on the web about Santo Domingo Pueblo potter Mark Garcia as many, many sources have copy-plastered Mark Wayne Garcia's bio on Mark Garcia's work. Suffice to say they are two different potters with similar names and addresses. As far as I can determine, Mark Garcia doesn't work with micaceous clays while Mark Wayne Garcia does.

My takeaway from this: be careful of what you see on the web as so many pottery dealers are so little interested in getting their facts straight (most quote from books published 20 years ago and those books were wrong when they were published). And I'll have a decent conversation with Mark next time I see him, which happens maybe once a year or so.
