Dena Suina

Born into San Felipe Pueblo in 1961, Dena Suina grew up learning very little about working with clay. Then she married into Cochiti Pueblo in the 1980s and began to learn the traditional art from her mother-in-law, Louise Suina.

Dena has been producing clay art since 1991. She has developed her own style of storytellers with very small children, fine lines and exquisite painting. She makes her storytellers in a wide variety of shapes and shapes, always with intricate details.
