Wendell Kowemy

Laguna Pueblo

Wendell Kowemy was born into Laguna Pueblo in 1972. After watching some of his relatives make pottery the traditional way, he began working with clay in 1992 under the tutelage of his grandmother, Evelyn Cheromiah, one of the women who originally jump-started the revival of the Laguna pottery tradition in the 1970s.
