George Cordero

Cochiti Pueblo

George Cordero (1944-1990) was the son of Helen Cordero, the Cochiti potter credited with innovating the storyteller figurine. He learned the traditional Cochiti methods of making pottery from her and he collaborated with her often from the late 1970's until he died in 1990.

George passed his knowledge on to his daughter, Buffy Cordero, before he died.
