Geraldine's given name in Keres is Tsah-shrti-mah (the stone used for grinding corn). She was born Geraldine Lucero, a member of the Corn Clan at San Felipe Pueblo. She gathers her own clay from the reservation, hand coils her pottery, and paints with natural pigments in the traditional way.
Geraldine has been making pottery since 1993. She credits her husband, Diego Lovato, a potter from Santo Domingo Pueblo, with teaching her the traditional way to hand coil, sand and polish her pottery.
She began by making pottery for traditional purposes. Then she entered her first show at the 2004 Santa Fe Indian Market and her work sold out.
