Angel and Ralph Bailon
Angel Bailon is a potter from Santo Domingo Pueblo. She works with her husband Ralph: she makes the pieces, he paints, they both fire. Together they make storytellers, nativities, Singing Angels, Flights to Egypt, and sometimes jewelry necklaces (Ralph's family are silversmiths).
Angel was born in Jemez Pueblo and learned to make pottery from her mother, Marie Coriz. Then she married Ralph and moved to his home at Santo Domingo where they began producing pottery for the marketplace in 1979.
She signs most of her pieces: A&R Bailon, sometimes adding Kewa.
