Tomasita Reyes Montoya

San Juan Pueblo/Ohkay Owingeh

Born in 1899, Tomasita Reyes Montoya was a traditional/contemporary potter from San Juan Pueblo. She was one of the original eight women who worked to restart San Juan potttery-making in the early 1930s. She was the mother of Rosita de Herrera and Dominguita Sisneros, both of whom became award-earning potters.

Tomasita passed on in 1978.
