Mata Ortiz

Blanca Quezada de Renteria is a young Mata Ortiz potter living with her husband, Cruz Renteria, in Barrio Americana. She learned the traditional art from her neighbor, Graciela Gallegos.

Blanca likes to work with white clay forms and paint wonderful Mimbres and geometric designs. She has an outstanding reputation for small plates and bowls painted with animals in the Mimbres Revival tradition.
