Ricardo Corona

Mata Ortiz

Ricardo Corona is a second generation potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in Chihuahua, Mexico. He seems to like painting contemporary geometric designs on white body pots, although he varies that clay body color sometimes: there's only about 10 colors available in the Mata Otiz area.

With the dearth of info about Mata Oriz potters, the only other hint I've come across is that Ricardo is Pilo Mora's son-in-law and they sometimes collaborate: Ricardo decorates Pilo's hand made pots.
