Cochiti Pueblo
Mary Chalan was born into Cochiti Pueblo in 1939, the daughter of Raymond and Barbarita Herrera. She learned how to make pottery from her mother-in-law, Helen Cordero. Like Helen, Mary made mostly figurative pottery, mostly storytellers.
