Neva Nampeyo

Hopi

Neva Polacca Choyou Nampeyo (b. 1947) is a Hopi potter in the Nampeyo tradition. She's the daughter of Elva Nampeyo and granddaughter of Fannie Nampeyo. That lineage also makes her a member of the Hopi-Tewa Corn Clan.

Neva has produced mostly polychrome pots decorated with designs seen throughout the Nampeyo family tree. Her favorite design is the migration pattern, although she likes to update it and use the clay background as part of the overall design. Her pieces also tend to be more contemporary than Sikyátki Revival.
