Stella Huma

Hopi

Stella Huma (1929-1996) lived at Hano on First Mesa. She was a master at making thin-walled vessels, burnishing them to a very fine finish, painting them with precision and controlling her fire to achieve her desired effects.

Stella began producing traditional pottery in 1960 and continued making pottery until she passed on in 1996. Among her favorite design elements were rain, clouds and parrots.
