Elston Yepa

Jemez Pueblo

Elston Yepa is a potter from Jemez Pueblo. He's been doing sgraffito work since he was in fourth grade and learned the entire traditional process of making pottery as he grew up.

His wife Dena is from Santo Domingo Pueblo, born into a family of well-known jewelers. After she married Elston, she moved to Jemez and learned how to work with clay from her in-laws.

Elston and Dena usually work together and sign their pottery E.D. Yepa, Jemez.
