Juanita Martinez is a potter born and raised at Jemez but married into Taos. Unusual in the pueblos, she moved to her husband's home. Also not the norm, she continued making Jemez-style pottery. Her specialty was storytellers made with micaceous clay. She continued living at Taos and producing her signature pottery many years after her husband passed on.
