Melda Nampeyo

Hopi

Melda Garcia Nampeyo is a great-granddaughter of Nampeyo of Hano and granddaughter of Fannie Nampeyo. She learned her traditional pottery making skills from her mother, Leah Garcia Nampeyo. That lineage also makes her a member of the Hopi-Tewa Corn Clan.

Melda has been producing pottery since 1975, mostly polychrome pots decorated with designs seen throughout the Nampeyo family.
