Florence Naranjo

Santa Clara Pueblo

Florence Naranjo was a potter from Santa Clara Pueblo. She mostly made blackware jars, bowls, effigy bowls, engagement baskets and duck and dog figures. Some pieces she liked to carve with an avanyu design, some she liked to paint in the black-on-black style.

There's not much of a record of Florence's participation in major events, but she did earn a First Place ribbon at the 1964 Gallup InterTribal Ceremonial. She was also a participant at the Santa Fe Indian Market in the late 1990s.
