Shapes & Forms
LuAnn Tafoya was born into Santa Clara Pueblo in 1938. She grew up working with clay with her mother, Margaret Tafoya. Margaret had her polishing pots at the age of twelve, then creating pots on her own at thirteen. LuAnn had a certain skill at creating large pots and jars, a skill few people have any more. She created one jar 29 inches high and it earned the Best in Show ribbon at the 2003 Santa Fe Indian Market.
