Reycita Naranjo

Santa Clara Pueblo

Reycita Naranjo (1926-2003) was a traditional potter from Santa Clara Pueblo. She and her sisters (Clara Shije, Mary Singer, Florence Browning, Mary Carlisle and Elizabeth Naranjo) were taught the ancient art of pottery making by their mother, Pablita Tafoya Chavarria. Reycita began earning awards at the Santa Fe Indian Market in 1981 and continued earning them for years.
