Sarah Garcia

Acoma Pueblo

Sarah Garcia is the daughter-in-law of Jessie Garcia (one of the Four Matriarchs of the Acoma Pottery Families) and mother of Debbie Brown, Goldie Hayah and Donna Chino. Sarah was born and raised at Laguna but married Jessie's son Chester and moved to Acoma. She learned the Acoma way to make pottery from her mother-in-law. She is most known for her innovative forms and beautiful designs. She was one of the most prolific of the Acoma potters during her lifetime.
